Cherry Culture Haul, Swatches and Reviews

I first heard about the economical awesomeness of NYX a year back while browsing through various beauty blogs. I was too scared of online shopping back then and didn’t consider buying online from cherryculture.

Then one random day while grocery shopping in Total Mall I spotted NYX counter! I quickly scuttled across the floor and landed at the aforementioned counter with a huge grin on my face. Much to my dismay though they had a very limited collection and almost no testers! How can a makeup counter have no testers is beyond me! Also each single eyeshadow was priced at 400-500 I think. Now why would I pay so much for NYX when by paying a couple of hundred rupees I can get a MAC refill eyeshadow. Anyway I liked what I saw, testers or no testers especially the quilted pattern on the eyeshadows and blushes.

I ordered from Cherryculture.com in October sometime last year. Instead of doing individual reviews I thought I will do one haul post and mini reviews for each product since I have had a few months to play with these goodies.

1-    NYX Rouge Cream blush In Tea Rose

(L -R) Cream Blush in Tea Rose and Golden
- This made me fall in love with cream blushes. It comes across as a lovely muted peach color on my skin. For everyday look I take a little bit on my fingers and just tap tap on my cheeks and blend upward. It gives a very natural looking glow to my skin. For night time this can be built up in intensity. I have oily skin  breakout prone skin but this hasn’t broken me out in any way. It does disappear though after 3-4 hours but then no blush lasts on me more than 4 hours. I just love this blush and would definitely recommend it.

2- NYX Rouge Cream blush In Golden-

While it looks brown in the pan on skin it looks like a browny pink color with shimmer. The shimmer is not very obvious but it is not as finely milled as I would like it to be. I still love it. I use this at night time only though.

NYX Powder Blush in Silky Rose -2
 – This is just beautiful. I never thought I can find a matte blush for close to 300 rupees which is so perfect.
Color-Love the color. Its a beautiful shade of pink. It looks bright but not too bright.   Just perfect. I think this blush will look good on all skintones.

Texture- I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the texture of this blush. I was prepared for a chalky matte blush. But the finish is more satiny and luminous rather than matte and flat. The powder is very finely milled I think and it goes on very smoothly and is easily blendable.

Packaging- I love the quilted pattern on top.

4- NYX Single Eyeshadow Midnight - Metallic/Shimmer
NYX Single Eyeshadow in Midnight

This is a very dark green which almost looks like black with tiny silver  glitters. I would describe this as glittery rather than shimmery. Shimmery for me is very finely milled sparkles where the individual particles can’t be seen. You can definitely see the sparkly things in this eyeshadow though not in a OTT way. I love this for night outs for a fuss free single wash of color on my lids. I love the quilted pattern on top. I was very excited when I swatched this for the first time.:)  :)

5- NYX Luscious Lipgloss Palette in The Perfect Everyday Colors
NYX Luscious Lipgloss Palette in The Perfect Everyday Colors

This was one of the duds from this haul. Though the colors are pretty they are not very smooth. Neither are the colors very pigmented.  Three colors look almost the same on swatching. Check it out on the pic below. I love the packaging though and the mini brush included is not completely useless either.

6- NYX Lip Lacquer Pot Okie Dokie Artichokie

NYX Lip Lacquer Pot Okie Dokie Artichokie

I am on the fence about this. I love the color!Shimmery peachy awesomeness. And I love lip products in cute pots. My only drawback is that for this to look good my lips need to be in top notch condition. It accentuates flakes very obviously. The color is not very pigmented but its not too sheer either. I mainly got this because I love the name. It makes me laugh each time I pronounce the name in my head :P

7-  NYX The Runway Collection 10 Color Eyeshadow Palette

Champagne and Caviar – I have to say that lot of colors are very similar. Though the palette looks very pretty and the colors look tempting there are not many unique colors. Check out the pics. Some of the shades are chalky but a few are excellent. My Favorite is the dark brown. I love it! It looks a bit like the MAC satin taupe eyeshadow on my lids without the shimmer. The packaging is very nice. A big mirror and a couple of sponge tip applicators are included.
