Best eyeshadow for office ~ MAC Groundwork Paintpot,Review and Swatch

Love at first sight. ..this is how I felt when I first swatched the Groundwork paintpot . Yes I am overtly dramatic about makeup and unabashedly so :P.

Groundwork is a beautiful taupe colour with very slight shimmer.On my skin it looks like light brown with shimmer.You definitely can’t make out the individual shimmer particles. Here is the swatch for you. My skin tone in MAC varies from NC 42-45.

The consistency of the product is to die for. Very very smooth and creamy and it gives you just enough time to blend before setting. I use groundwork paintpot both as an allover wash of gorgeous neutral color on my lids or as an eyeshadow base. I more often than not reach for this for a quick and polished neutral makeup for office. I use Paintpot all over my lids, followed by a bit of NYX jumbo eyepencil in yogurt for highlighting, Revlon Colorstay twist up eyeliner for upper and lower waterlines and Covergirl Lash Blast mascara. Quick and simple but veryyy pretty eye makeup.

Price you ask ? 1100 INR. But you need very less for each application. One pot should last easily for a year. I have been using this consistently for over 4 months and as you can see I have hardly made a dent.

How to ? I use fingers or MAC 217 brush.

Best suited for ? I have quite a dusky complexion and its looks very good on my dark skin. But I can see this working for all types of skintones.

The good

•  Gorgeous Color especially for Indian skin.
•  Works as an eyeshadow as well as an eyeshadow base.
• vAmazing consistently. It sets within good time and doesn’t smudge or move

The not so good

•  Frankly nothing. 1100  doubloons may seem a lot but its totally worth it.

 I am absolutely in love with this and can’t recommend this enough. In fact this beauty has turned me on to cream eyeshadows. I want to explore more brands which have cream eyeshadows like Benefit etc. But that is a whole another story. I  am definitely  re-purchasing this when I run out. I am taking off half a point because this is my first cream eyeshadow and I don’t know how it will compare to the ones by MUFE, Bobbi Brown and Benefit et all.
