Put an oily skinned gal in a humid(albeit the best) city like Bombay and wham!! What we get is a gross combination of perspiration and oiliness. To keep my skin shine free and at the same time hydrated I love using the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing gel. I discovered this moisturizer around 3 years back when I was going through a sudden outbreak of acne. This is a lightweight gel based lotion which sinks in quickly and leaves behind a soft smooth finish.  I have tried a lot of moisturizers meant for oily skin but this is the one I always return to. The Clinique DDMG provides just the right dose of moisture and even in humid climates this doesn’t make my face shine.

I love using this especially in Bombay and similar coastal places like Goa where it can get quite humid. In such places I feel tempted not to put any moisturizer but then my skin gets very dehydrated and the dreaded pores start increasing in size. A good moisturizer is essential for keeping the skin dewy and hydrated even in such climate. The Clinique DDMG works perfectly in any of these scenarios and is particularly suited for combination and oily skin girls. My hair might be a frizzy mess in Goa but my skin is perfectly shine free J

Do you love exploring new malls? I love the anticipation of coming across a new brand.Whenever a new mall opens I hop,skip,jump or run to get to  it as soon as possible. So when the G7 mall opened in Mumbai I was super excited to check it out especially since all of my favorite brands were opening there- Mango,Pramod,Nine west,Aldo,Charles and Keith. When I first visited this mall I was in mall heaven. I got so excited about all these stores that I completely missed out on this new store called Iraya.


Iraya is a skincare,body care and haircare brand and there products are formulated on based on the princles of Ayurveda. Kinda like Forrest Essential I guess.To know more about them you can check them out at www.iraya.in.


The thing that instantly attracted me to their store was the simple yet elegent way it was set up.It was quite spacious (which you can't very often say for Mumbai stores) and the atmosphere was quite zen like. As soon as you enter the store you will feel like checking out all the products in detail. And they have a huge variety of products right from cleansers ,toners,mositurisers to various ayuvedic ubtans to massage oils. They also have a fresh face mask counter-something similar to the Lush fresh face masks. These last for 15 days and have to be kept refrigerated.I had just splurged close to 4 k in Mango and I didn't want to spend any more money. But I knew if I dont buy at least one thing I will keep coming back till I buy.


After much deliberation I picked up their Honey and Liquorice face lotion. I really liked the texture of this lotion.Its very fluid and gets absorbed into the skin immediately.I also loved their Wildflower body lotion. I will definitely get that when I am next in Mumbai.

Moisturizers....face cream what ever you choose to call it...it's the most primitive of all  skin care products ...long before we heard of toners, primers,bronzers every dressing table had at least one small tub of face cream. I remember using ponds cold cream as a little girl. Choice was simple. . uncomplicated as options were few. Now with a million (ok i am exaggerating a bit ) moisturizers /face creams whatever you like to call it beckoning us from every aisle of department stores or even your local supermarket the quest for the perfect moisturizer seems like a herculean challenge (well almost :P).And why not every girl  dreams of a flawless satiny smooth radiantly dewy complexion.

I have been on a treasure hunt for my holy grail of moisturizer. A magic potion that will turn my skin incandescent. ( Lol I am such a drama queen).After going through tubs of inexpensive and expensive moisturizers one day I found myself in Clinique store of my neighborhood mall. My skin had taken a beating under the Goan sun . Result of a heavenly beach vacation equals uneven skin tone, dryness, dullness and occasional break outs...basically all the skin problems that gives us night mares. Anyway I set out to find  a potion that wud banish all my concerns...no mean task i understand. Clinique has an amazing range of skincare products... all suited to different skin types. My eyes fell upon this innocent looking tiny tub filled with a peach colored gel. The name on the tub----Moisture surge, extended thirst relief. I tried some on my hands immediately, the gel based emulsion sunk into my skin without any ...n I repeat any traces of oiliness. I bought a 50 ml jar without further ado. Since Clinique products are allergy tested and they are very good with returns I normally don't have to worry too much before buying a product. Not to mention every Clinique counter has a dermatologist and they first do an analysis of your skin and suggest products that will suit your skin type. And unlike other brands they don’t push you to purchase something...not too much anyway.
